<p><strong>There are several themes in Animal Farm.  We are going to focus on the four themes listed below.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Power:  </strong>Control over the lives of others</p>
<p><strong>Equality:</strong>  The idea that every person should have the same opportunities and rights in life.</p>
<p><strong>Propaganda</strong>:  the deliberate and organised spread of information to make sure that people unquestioningly believe what you want them to believe in order to keep power.</p>
<p><strong>Education:  </strong>The sharing of information, knowledge, and skills with others in the society.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>YOUR TASKS:</p>
<p><strong>Choose <span style="text-decoration: underline">one</span> of the above themes.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Complete <span style="text-decoration: underline">both</span> of the following for that theme.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Written</strong>  For the theme that you choose, describe the message the author is presenting.  Describe the idea of the message and show how the author uses the characters and events in the book to support the message.  Finally, describe how the theme is relevant to the present day using specific examples to prove your point. (30 points)</p>
<p><strong>Visual</strong>:  Create a drawing or other piece of art that illustrates the author&#8217;s message.  This could include the characters from the book or it could be an altogether different representation of the message. (20 points)</p>
